Maria Elena Gordon Featured in Cambridge Who's Who
Maria E. Gordon has written two books registered with the Library of Congress and seven nationwide songs
EL PASO, TX, June 2, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Maria Gordon, Poet, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in writing.
After serving in the U. S. Marine Corps, Ms. Gordon pursued a career as a professional poet. She has thus far written two books of poetry and seven songs that have been released nationwide. Her books, titled, "When Cultures Clash" and "Poetry of Border Conflict Rushed," were both registered with the Library of Congress in 2010. Her songs include "One Day Soon" and "Wondering Immigrant," which were both released in Nashville, Ind., "Soldiers Romance," which was released by Redrock Records, and "My Mind and Heart," which was released by Majestic Records.
In recognition of her services in the U. S. Marine Corps, Ms. Gordon is the recipient of a Good Conduct Medal and Overseas Ribbon. She is honored to have received a letter of thanks from President Obama for sending him a copy of her books. Aside from work, Ms. Gordon volunteers with various nonprofit enterprises in El Paso, Texas. She also supports Veterans of Foreign Wars.
