Rex S. Vance Is In Tune With Stanford Who's Who
Rex S. Vance has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his remarkable professional career.

WICHITA, KS, April 15, 2011 /Stanford Who's Who/ -- Rex S. Vance has been accepted among the prestigious ranks of Stanford Who's Who as a result of his remarkable professional career. As Owner and Director of Vance Music, as well as throughout his incredible 40 years in the business, Rex has routinely exhibited the passion, vision and dedication necessary to be considered among the best.

Established in 1952 by Chester S. Vance, Vance Music is an educational facility that gives music classes and private lessons. Since moving from Kansas City, Kansas to Wichita in 1972, they have been serving South Central Kansas drawing students from a 100-mile radius and with students representing eight different school districts. Their teaching staff is comprised of talented musicians with over 100 years of accumulated teaching experience.

Rex is responsible for managing all major aspects of the business as well as overseeing the daily operations and teaching students the finer points of music. He was a violin student of James Caesar and Beatrice Pease of Wichita State University. Rex was also a long-time violin student of Leopold Shopmaker for whom the Mid-American Violin Competition is named.

Mr. Vance is the Founder and a member of the First Baptist Church (FBC) String Orchestra. He currently plays in the FBC Praise Band and the Vance Music Band. Rex has also played in the Hutchinson Symphony, Fort Hays Symphony, WSU Symphony, Friend's Community Orchestra, K.U. Medical Arts Symphony, and the Kansas City, and Kansas Symphony. He has taught clinics and/or workshops for Friends University, WSU, and the Kansas American String Teacher Association. Rex has played back-up for Alvis Barnett, The Terry's, Parton's, Stutes Family, Pee Wee Reese, Craig Curry, and Ernest Alexander. He is a member of the American String Teacher Association, Kansas American String Teacher Association, Kansas Acoustic Arts Association and the Kansas Bluegrass Association.
