South African Grammy Winner Invites Music Students to Buckle Up and Rock Out

Country singer Ricky Skaggs took home several awards at Friday's 17th Annual Inspirational Country Music Awards, including Entertainer of the Year as well as Musician of the Year. Mark received his Bachelor's Degree in Classical Performance from Natal Technikon, a college in South Africa, and went on to receive a South African Grammy in 1992 while performing with the group Jo Day. With a focus on having fun, Mark allows students to choose the music they're interested in, to keep motivation and interest up. His specialties include the Segovia technique of classical guitar, and also several different genres such as folk, country, jazz, Latin, gospel and contemporary Christian music. Mark also has a secondary music studio for students closer to Wilmington, NC.
