LateRooms.com - Hall for Cornwall to Welcome Tony Christie
Veteran singer Tony Christie will visit Cornwall on his 50th anniversary tour this summer.
MANCHESTER, ENGLAND, May 07, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Tony Christie is heading to Cornwall for a live performance later this year.
Currently celebrating his 50th year in the music business, the South Yorkshire-born crooner embarked on an extensive UK tour in April and will arrive at the Truro venue on Thursday June 23rd.
Known for hits such as Is This The Way to Amarillo and I Did What I Did for Maria, Christie released his latest studio album Now's the Time! earlier this year.
The LP features a collaboration with Pulp frontman Jarvis Cocker, who has worked with his fellow singer on several projects over the years.
In 1999, Christie provided vocals for Walk Like a Panther, a track written by Cocker for Sheffield band the All Seeing I.
The Britpop legend was also involved in Christie's critically acclaimed 2008 album Made in Sheffield, which featured contributions from many of the Steel City's most influential musicians.
It included new versions of songs written by the likes of Richard Hawley, Alex Turner of the Arctic Monkeys and The Human League.
Tickets for Christie's show at the Hall for Cornwall are priced at GBP19 and GBP22, with doors due to open at 19:30 BST.
LateRooms.com recommends a wide range of hotels in Cornwall that could appeal to concert-goers, including the Jamaica Inn Cornwall.
