Fleet Foxes will play material from their second album Helplessness Blues in Berlin next month.

BERLIN, GERMANY, April 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Fleet Foxes, one of the most critically acclaimed US bands of recent years, are due to play live in Berlin on Wednesday May 25th.

The Seattle-based group's show at the Columbiahalle will give fans a chance to hear songs from their long-awaited second LP Helplessness Blues, which is set for release on May 3rd.

Expectations for the record are extremely high, as Fleet Foxes drew widespread acclaim and won many admirers for their self-titled debut album in 2008.

The LP, which featured on many 'best of the year' lists, was praised by critics for its use of refined vocal harmonies and the rural imagery of singer Robin Pecknold's lyrics.

Fleet Foxes have played to audiences around the world since the album was released, having embarked on an extensive touring schedule that is thought to have delayed recording sessions for their sophomore effort.

With work on Helplessness Blues now complete, the group are heading back out on to the road for a string of dates in North America and Europe.

Many fans will no doubt already be familiar with the new album's title track, as it was made available as a free download single earlier this year.

According to a statement from Fleet Foxes' record label Sub Pop, the LP was recorded and mixed over the course of 12 months by Phil Ek, who was also at the helm for the band's debut release.

Tickets for the gig in Berlin are available online, priced at EUR24.90 (GBP21.90) plus booking fee.

Doors are due to open at 19:00 local time and support will be provided by Josh T Pearson.
